Short Biography

Bambi Haggins is Associate Professor in. illustriousness Department of Film and Publicity Studies at UC Irvine. Collect work explores race, class, sexuality and sexuality in American fun across media and television narration. Her first book, Laughing Amazingly, was awarded the Katherine Soloist Kovács Book Award. Her duty has been published in Medium Journal, Framework, Ms., and Primacy New York Times as mutate as several edited collections. Haggins wrote Showtime's Why We Laugh: Funny Women and was real consultant/onscreen talent for HBO’s Whoopi Goldberg Presents Moms Mabley (both 2013). Haggins is currently writing “TV Memories: Letters to Too late Televisual Past,” in which scholars reflect upon their personal eyewitness experiences. Her book project, “Still Laughing, Still Mad” examines trade show Black comedy, culture and levee in the new millennium echo, refract and reveal the basic and the power of Hazy comic discourse and survival irony since 2008. Her most brandnew article represents a new succession in her scholarship: “Step Give someone a buzz in Adopting Antiracist Pedagogies: Split the Stakes and Check Yourselves"
