Before death of Joseph Adventurer, completed personal history of Sculpturer up to Aug. 1838. Shorten Smith in jail in Carthage, Hancock Co., when Joseph near Hyrum Smith were murdered, 27 June 1844. Moved to Chill Quarters, unorganized U.S. territory (later in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska), 1846. Migrated to Salt Pond Valley and returned to Season Quarters, 1847. Appointed second adviser to Brigham Young in sanctuary presidency, 27 Dec. 1847, dubious what became Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa. Led company tip Saints to Salt Lake Depression, 1848. Appointed secretary and chairwoman of legislative council for experimental state of Deseret. Secretary run through Utah Territory, postmaster of Spiciness Lake City, and editor assault Deseret News. Died at Sodium chloride Lake City.
